Our Story

Born from a Love of Colorado's Mountains

Atomic Stays was co-founded in 2021 by Kyle James and Zack Campbell — two Colorado transplants who saw the same gap from different angles. Kyle, a University of Colorado Leeds School of Business graduate, recognized that beautiful mountain homes were chronically underperforming: poorly listed, inconsistently managed, and missing the brand identity that drives premium bookings. Zack, a CFA who spent years trading Asian equities, brought the financial rigor to turn that vision into a scalable business — underwriting properties with the same discipline he applied to institutional portfolios.

Together, they set out to build something different — a company that pairs institutional discipline with modern branding and genuine local expertise. Since launch, Atomic has scaled to 244 active listings across five markets, managing single-family homes, boutique hotels, and bed & breakfasts. Kyle's personal portfolio has delivered a 28.87% cash-on-cash return after all expenses, and the model's results speak for themselves across every property they manage.

Their focus is exclusively on Vail, Beaver Creek, Greater Denver Metro, and Winter Park — because deep local knowledge is what separates exceptional performance from average results.
